Paul owns a Golden Calf Company Thaw Unit and Refractometer. He uses the Refractometer to test the colostrum. “We are able to separate high quality colostrum from poorer quality colostrum and store it accordingly. This helps significantly with calf health.”
When I asked what he likes about the Thaw Unit, Paul said that he likes the water bath because it quickly thaws the colostrum, it thaws it all the way through and it maintains it at a steady temperature.
