U.S. Dairy Forage Research Center is owned by the University of Wisconsin. It was established in 1981 and currently the University owns about 370 cows. There are 18 Employees, to include for milking, split between two shifts.
The farm owns a Pasteurizer 2 unit and a Colostrum Freezer Bank. I spoke with Paul who said, “the system has helped standardize our process and I really like that the colostrum stays at a consistent temperature.”
When I asked Paul about how the system helps with their calf health, he replied, “I favor that the unit is effective killing bacteria in the colostrum.”
